Fulshear Historical Association, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, is currently seeking an experienced candidate for the VOLUNTEER position of Treasurer. This role is an administrative position on the Executive Board and is responsible for managing and safeguarding the finances for the for the organization. It is currently supported by two additional executive board roles and six or less director positions.
About the Role
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Banking and bookkeeping
• Nonprofit tax filing
• Monthly and Annual Reporting
Requirements
Must reside in the state of Texas
Experience with financial management, including expenditures and budget
Familiarity with reporting, such as financial statements and tax documents
Understanding and upholding responsible banking practices, ensuring proper use of funds
Ability to collaborate across departments to assist with fundraising and program support efforts
No strict academic requirements, but prior roles In organization, project management, accounting, or finance is preferred
Preferred Considerations:
Resident of Fulshear or the nearby surrounding area
Previous experience serving on a board of directors, either as treasurer or development capacity
Knowledge of nonprofit governance, legal requirements, and best practices
A responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
A respect and fondness for the people (both past and present) of Fulshear, Texas
An interest in history, heritage, and preservation
